Housework is the work such as cleaning, washing, and ironing that you do in your home. Every member of the family must help with the housework, because they all live in the same house and have equal responsibility.
Household chores include cooking, setting the table, doing the washing up (washing dishes), making the beds, cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, washing clothes, ironing, tidying up rooms, looking after children and doing the shopping.
It is hard work. As someone said: "Housework is something you do that nobody notices until you don't do it."
