WHAT IS THE MEANING OF WORK IN PHYSICS?

We understand as work any action which requires effort.  In Physics the concept of work applies exclusively to those actions whose immediate effect is movement. The following visual will help us to find a more exact definition.

 

LEARN: Work is a physical magnitude which relates a force to the movement it causes.

In the Système International d'Unités it is measured in joules (N · m). Its mathematical expression is:
